Running a Small Business as a Young Mother of Three

Running a small business is challenging.

Running one while raising three young daughters is a very specific kind of creative chaos.

I have built my business through pregnancies, babies, school schedules, nap times, unexpected sick days, storefront responsibilities, product launches, events, and approximately one million requests for snacks.

Some days I feel incredibly productive. Other days, keeping everyone alive and answering one email feels like a major accomplishment.

Building a Business During Motherhood

I started my business when I was a young mom, and it has grown alongside my family.

My daughters have watched me make candles, design products, host markets, run a storefront, create content, teach classes, and completely change directions when something was no longer working.

They are also some of my biggest inspirations.

They help me choose colors, give very honest opinions, inspire product ideas, and remind me that creativity does not have to be perfect to be enough.

Motherhood has taught me how to adapt, multitask, solve problems quickly, and continue moving forward even when the original plan falls apart.

Letting Success Change With Your Season

One of the hardest lessons I have learned is that success will not always look the same.

Sometimes success means growing your business. Sometimes it means simplifying it. Sometimes it means closing one chapter so you can build something that fits your family better.

Being a business owner and a mother has forced me to stop measuring success only by sales, followers, or how much I completed in a day.

Sometimes success is making a product while a baby naps. Sometimes it is taking the day off. Sometimes it is admitting that the dream needs to change.

I do not have a perfect routine, a color-coded schedule, or a magical system that makes every day run smoothly.

I am simply building, learning, creating, parenting, changing my mind, and figuring things out as I go.

And that experience is a big part of what inspired me to create my own interactive business and branding guide.
